Manu a vingt ans quand il débarque à Paris pour chercher du travail. Il s'installe provisoirement chez sa soeur Julie dont il partagera la chambre dans un hôtel modeste. Julie est enfermée dans la musique. Elle suit une formation de chanteuse lyrique et s'efforce de maintenir une distance avec son frère envahissant. Manu sort beaucoup la nuit. Il fréquente les lieux de rencontres. Il fera la connaissance d'Adrien et nouera une amitié chaste et joyeuse avec ce médecin gay quinquagénaire, extraverti et cultivé, qui lui fera découvrir le style de vie de son milieu.
Set in the late 1980s, amid the onset of AIDS and the end of the sexual revolution, this haunting drama focuses on the contrasts between sex and love, health and sickness, friendship and romance. Newly arrived in Paris, a handsome young man begins a friendship with a couple adjusting to life as new parents, and soon an unexpected love affair upsets the tranquility of their lives.
