Tommy gets some needed kindness from Doc, a practitioner who seems sympathetic towards him, but who actually has ulterior motives for his friendliness...
Tommy Wihlem, vendeur VRP, perd son boulot à la suite d'une altercation avec le fils de son patron qui lui a pris la moitié de son secteur. A la recherche d'un nouveau travail, désemparé, séparé de sa femme et de ses deux enfants qu'il adore, rabaissé par un père qui ne montre ni compassion ni reconnaissance pour son fils, Tommy tente de recoller les morceaux de sa vie à New York.
